"Dancing with Myself, Dancing with My Cells" explores the speculative examination of the psyche's influence on the human body, its cells, and their roles in the related healing process. It considers somatic and non-verbal therapies, emphasising the interconnectedness of mind and body, which form the foundational platform for deeper awareness of one’s emotions. The work integrates multidisciplinary aspects of art and psychology with the goal of a deeper understanding of internal feelings.

This approach allows viewers to visualise and comprehend the significance of mental health in the context of preventing and treating physical illnesses and how long-suppressed or unconsciously unresolved emotions and stress can affect their physical condition. The installation highlights the crucial role of touch and body awareness in art therapy, enabling viewers to observe speculative cellular transformation and increase awareness of the interconnectedness of body and mind and the influence of the human psyche on physical health.

The installation offers an immersive experience where viewers can interact through the touch of their hands and subsequent dialogue with their own body, represented by abstractly displayed cells on the canvas, experiencing and becoming aware of the impact of their emotions on their body. This interaction is supported by a sensor measuring the depth of pressure on the stretch canvas - Spandex, which responds and transforms various types of touch. The system, which works in the background in the software TouchDesigner, analyses data values from the Kinect's depth map and subsequently visually transforms them into visual values. The reactions are sonified, allowing viewers to hear and visualise how their touches affect the represented cells. The auditory feedback subsequently influences their further interactions with the organism. This approach not only enables viewers to experience but also visually understand the impact of emotional states on physical health.

The installation emphasises the importance of haptic interaction as a means of developing body awareness and its mechanisms. It contributes to the interpretation of the significance of the interaction between bodily and psychological processes, bringing a new perspective on the potential of combining digital art approaches with practical art therapy and therapeutic methods. The work thus contributes to understanding how art can actively support health and emotional well-being.
